The Cummins Africa Finance internship program is a two-week internship that will give top students the opportunity to experience what it like to work as a financial analyst at Cummins Inc. – a Fortune 500 company that is rapidly expanding across Africa. Over the course of the two-week programme you will work in a team to address a real business problem that the company is facing in Africa. At the end of the internship, you will present your recommendation to the Cummins leadership team.
These two weeks will serve as your interview for our global and highly-selective two-year Finance Development Programme (FDP). At the end of the internship we will make job offers to join the FDP in February 2017. This development program is a full-time job offer where candidates have the opportunity to spend six months in four different parts of Cummins’ global business such as planning, forecasting & reporting (PFR); operational finance; and internal controls.
The internship will take place 27 June to 8 July 2016 at our Africa Headquarters in Woodmead, Johannesburg. Participants will receive a stipend and we will also make necessary travel and accommodation arrangements for the duration of the internship.
We are seeking candidates who:
- Are exceptional students currently completing their Honours degree in 2016. Students in all fields of study are welcome to apply.
- Have achieved an overall average of 65% or better (in undergraduate studies). Should you be selected for an internship interview, you will be required to submit a copy of your transcript for verification.
- Have demonstrated leadership abilities through academic, athletic and/or extracurricular/community activities.
- Are looking for a challenging and dynamic experience.
